CNET Profiles Durham's Tech Scene
"Adam Klein, chief strategist for American Underground, an incubator that has expanded from 35 startups to 150 in three locations in Durham and Raleigh in four years, rattled off a list of quality-of-life perks that have kept him in the area. "I can live downtown at half the cost. I cut my commute down to five minutes, and I'm still a direct flight to Boston, New York, or San Francisco. It's a progressive community, well educated, with lots of people from other countries," he said, also noting a burgeoning restaurant and craft beer scene. "And the weather doesn't hurt.""

Rise recognized among "Best Breakfast Spots in America"
"Before opening Rise, the Durham restaurateur fulfilled one of our personal dreams: he tackled a seven-city, eight-day biscuit-and-donut research tour to sample some of America’s best. Specials change daily, but stick to the menu for your first time and wedge a brined and breaded fried chicken fillet between the biscuit, plus a scoop of spicy pimento cheese and a runny egg."

New York Times visits Durham's Central Park District
"Over the past months, the loudest bangs have been heard in the Central Park District near the corner of Rigsbee Avenue and West Geer Street. The intersection was first settled by Fullsteam Brewery, whose cavernous tavern lured locals (and lots of food trucks) to this previously neglected part of town. Now there’s live music, top-notch barbecue, fair trade coffee, and even valet parking on a block that five years ago was deserted after dark."
